The two most common questions I get …

1) “Doc, what BLOOD METER do you recommend?”

For years my diabetics told me this system was great. I tried several others before I bought this one. I can’t count the number of times I have tested my blood only to get an ERROR message from the strip. Grrr. I hate that. FORACARE gets my vote because it is accurate and takes only ONE test strip to get the results. YES!!

2) “Doc, which Ketones-In-A-Can (aka exogenous ketones, BHB) do you recommend?”
EXOGENOUS KETONES BHB: Dr Boz BHB: (affiliate link)

I don’t recommend these in everyone. I have times this is a great solution for my patients that are very overweight and trying to get used to burning ketones for fuel. All keto supplements should have magnesium in them. This one does.
I own this Dr Boz brand and the Dr Boz supplements.

  1. Sometimes I feel like I should just give up trying to lose weight. I lost 60 lbs in the first 6 months of 2018…then it stopped. Iโ€™m up and down 5 lbs ever since. I work 3rd shift, in menopause (51 years old), high stress life, and I get 4-5 hours of sleep per day. I have so many things working against me and donโ€™t have the ability to change them. ๐Ÿ™

  2. Hey Doc…what's the chances you could do the conversions to Canadian measure in your future vids? Cause here in Canada normal blood reading are 5.0 to 7.0 and you guys measure differently and I can't seem to figure it out thanks

  3. Thanks Dr. Boz and Jennifer, this is very informative. I started the Keto diet this past Sunday and I am feeling the deference. I am now eating once a day averaging 18 to 22 hours between my meals. No hunger yet lol. I do appreciate your time you are putting into getting the info out to the world.

  4. Jennifer, try none scale victories like how well you clothes fit, measurements, and look in the mirror because I can tell that your face has gotten thinner and your skin looks great. Glowing! You are doing fantastic! Thanks for putting it all out here for us to learn better and to not feel alone.

  5. People underestimate the power of stress and sleeplessness. Our bodies can cope with it for awhile but eventually it will show up in physical signs. I always told this to my mother in law because she went to bed 5 am and slept until noon or 1pm. She did this for a long time. With other stress she ended up with a heart attack and after a 14 years medical problem she died last November. I also noticed that when I'm under more stress than usual I gain weight. No matter how good I keep my keto diet. The cortisol takes over and it's so hard to bring it down.

  6. I have to say that I had the same problem with the sinuses for 6 months. I did not know where was coming from I went to the dentist for a regular checkup and I had an infected root canal and god-knows-how-long. I also was having the sweats at night and waking up over and over. I fix the problem pulling the tooth out and had to take antibiotics. So far so good. Great video thank you so much.

  7. Dr. Boz, The supreme value of these consults are golden. Jennifer and John are my heroes for their agreeing to be so vulnerable to us all. Bless you, all. To actually see a working dynamic in a patient/doctor consult goes beyond words in it's value to SO many.

  8. Thanks Dr, Boz. could you tell me why am i having a glucose resistance?
ย My Blood Glucose numbers seem to spike after 21 hours why? I do have hypoglycemia!
I do have 2 cups of black coffee in the morning!
I have checked my Blood Glucose, 20 minutes after having coffee, it has never raised my numbers.

  9. You mentioned concept of Intermittent Fasting that I had not heard before regarding the "morning reset". I have intermittently fasted by dropping breakfast. I was fasting from about 6 PM until noon. My understanding is that I should change that to eating when I get up around 6:30 AM until 1 PM.

ย Is that as important as you made it sound, or does the time of the 6 hour fast that crucial?

  10. I'm running morning BG levels around 105 with ketones in the high 2's and low 3's. Fasting 16/8 every day. And have seen zero weight loss since starting. ( 4 weeks ). Very frustrating.

  11. Vodka + mineral water or gin and tonic will only pause the keto production temporarily, it will not necessarily take you out of keto, alcohol is a strange macro nutrient. Drinking beer however is more or less the same as eating bread or candy.
