You hit a nerve with me, I grew up the same way.  White bread, potatoes, Cheerios for breakfast, milk, cheese, sugar cravings, if it wasn't chocolate it wasn't food, or candy.  I have RA/FM.  High inflammation, pain, insomnia, fatigue.  For years I've self-medicated with alcohol.  It's a vicious cycle.  I tried the High Protein Diet/by the Meades, got a super O-6 Arachidonic cascade, tried Lo-Carb Vegetarian based on almond meal, too high in oxylates, tried vegan, tried everything, and always, something turns it around to make it fail.  Nothing makes all the pain go away.

  2. So, are you're saying on keto diet you eventually work your way down to one meal a day and you stay there, just one meal a day forever? Or is it temporary until you fast then eat more meals a day for a while and then whittle yourself back down to one meal a day in a cycle?
    I don't fully get this.

  3. alright… I'm sold on it. I will start keto + IF asap, but how do I adapt Keto/IF for fitness/weight lifting? Also, I had hairloss from low daily calorie consumption; will it grow back once I start Keto/IF?

  4. Very interesting but I do encourage you Dr. Berg that when you refer to diabetes that you make clear it’s for Type 2. As a parent of a Type1, it’s a different situation with insulin.

  5. Did the Keto diet with intermittent fasting (5-2 diet) my A1C went from 7 down to 5.6
    This type of eating works people. You’ll develop what they call the “Keto flu” during the transition phase, when crossing over from glucose to fat for fuel. After transitioning, you’ll be amazed at your energy level, thinking clarity, not to mention how much better you feel.
    Eventually you’ll start to realize how much time was wasted in the kitchen & eating. Keto allows you to have more energy from eating a high fat diet vs a high carb (glucose) diet.

  7. I had my thyroid removed when I was 19 I had a giant cyst growing inside it it weighed to 10 g they said it was benign after that I could not get pregnant anyways can I do the keto diet? Without a thyroid?

  8. Is 5 gum keto friendly? I generally chew to spearmint (green) or peppermint (blue) but I just did not consider it part of my new eating plan. Then I got the keto flu today and stuck a piece in my mouth without thinking about it. It often settles my stomach. Have I blown my keto progression already?

  9. In the 1970s to 1980s when I was a kid, no one was sick or fat really. Especially with autoimmune diseases, IBS, celiac, gluten intolerance, diabetes. The food in usa is poison, chemicals, GMOs. Soil has no health, so plants from the soil is low nutrients. Don't get me started on glyphosate

  11. what about some guy on youtube who carbloads like a maniac and apparently loses fat and was even on a show preaching. what is his secret, hes not a doctor hes just some dude who apparently has a system and is having other people on his program. i dont understand whats going on in this world.

  12. I know a person who has lost about 190 pound! and also could stop taking diabetic medicin – on LCHF/keto and also a sort of IF as he did no snacks between his three meals. It's hard to believe even though I've seen it with my own eyes.
